This book contains the documentation of an autumn 2008 walk along the coastline of the Maasvlakte.
How nature, which has been created artificially, is now slowly being swallowed up by the development of the second ‘Maasvlakte’ industrial port area. A chronological visual poem interspersed with opinions and photos of looking back during the course of the walk, and mixed with stories about human rights abuses in Eritrea.

A glimpse of a
confusing world,

where the polluted landscape
seems like paradise,

a global question
becomes personal,

and beauty
has a grim side
